There was plenty to worry about during our adoption journey: What new legislation in Haiti would slow down the process? Were our girls well? Why did the Haitian government cancel their passports?
But another question haunted my mind- What about the hair?
So, I began the humbling process of crossing racial lines to become a student of my daughters' culture. I read.
I asked my African American friends lots of questions. I even bought a Barbie head to practice.
And now, I am so happy to share what I have learned.
